As an attorney in the firm’s Business and Taxation group, Miko assists clients with businesses of all types and sizes. He often works on matters involving business entity formation, maintenance, contract review, purchase and sale transactions, and various federal and state tax issues. Miko has a Master of Laws in Taxation (LL.M. in Tax) from the University of Washington School of Law and has thoroughly enjoyed the challenges and rewards of the tax practice.

Miko is passionate about supporting businesses, business owners, and entrepreneurs reach their goals, whether that be in acquisitions, business succession, tax-efficient organization and management of the business, and other related issues. He has found that business owners and entrepreneurs are one of the most committed and energetic group of people he has ever met. These same people are also the ones that greatly appreciate and value the work and experience that Miko brings to the table.

Professional Activities

Miko has been involved with serving and representing low-income taxpayers in front of the Internal Revenue Services (IRS) since he was in law school at Gonzaga University School of Law. He continued this pro-bono service as an LL.M. student at University of Washington School of Law and as a volunteer attorney thereafter.

Miko has also been involved in various capacity with multiple affinity and specialty organizations like the Filipino Lawyers of Washington (FLOW), Asian Bar Association of Washington (ABAW), and Tax Section of the Washington State Bar Association.

Miko enjoys visiting local breweries and wineries especially when it is nice and sunny outside. He has also been known to bring out his guitar or ukulele to serenade those who are willing to listen.
