As a member of Saalfeld Griggs’ Creditors’ Rights practice area and Financial Services Industry team, Josh helps financial clients with loan documentation, workouts, and loan enforcement and foreclosures. Josh also helps other local business clients draft and enforce promissory notes, security agreements, and construction liens. He also helps clients in other litigation matters, including drafting employment agreements for medical, dental and agriculture clients, trust litigation, and assisting in mediation.

Josh has always wanted to work with community business owners, and his work at Saalfeld Griggs allows him to frequently work in close contact with these businesses. He loves the problem-solving aspect of law and tailoring solutions to the goals and needs of clients.

Josh graduated cum laude from Brigham Young University with a Bachelor’s in History and a Minor in Middle East Studies. Josh received his law degree from The University of Iowa College of Law, where he was a student writer and managing editor for the Iowa Law Review. Josh also served as the Service Coordinator for the Iowa College of Law’s chapter of the J. Reuben Clark Law Society. Currently, Josh serves as a youth advisor in his local church unit.

Off the Job

While Josh and his family enjoyed their time in the Midwest, he is excited to be back on the west coast and to once again live close enough to mountains to see them on a regular basis. He grew up camping, hiking, and backpacking in the Sierras, Rockies, and Uintas and is excited to explore Oregon’s mountain ranges. Josh is also happy to live in an area where he occasionally hears people speaking Ukrainian and Russian, he learned to speak both while living in Ukraine for two years and is grateful for any opportunity to use them. He likes watching and playing most sports, to varying degrees of proficiency. Josh enjoys spending time with his wife, their two sons, and two beagles (yes, two of them—thankfully, neither is THAT loud). He is an avid reader of both fiction and nonfiction and plays the organ at church roughly once a month.
