Our group has extensive experience in urban and rural land use planning and development matters. We were one of the first law firms in the state with a department specializing in land use planning and policy making. Members of our group have served as urban land use planners, worked in county planning departments, and chaired state and local land use committees and task forces. We will give you practical and timely advice on your project.

  • Advocacy: we will serve as your advocate with the numerous agencies which regulate your development project.
  • Applications: we can assist you through the maze of applications and hearings processes, from urban development projects to rural land use approvals.
  • Appeals: we have had great success defending and prosecuting appeals before the Land Use Board of Appeals (LUBA) and through the Supreme Court.
  • Planning: our group regularly works with project teams of engineers, architects, environmental scientists and contractors to help bring your development concept to completion.
  • Policy: members of our group often work with state and local governments in drafting legislation and in comprehensive land use planning.
