 Mr. Briggs' practice focuses on employment and business litigation.

Employment Litigation

Mr. Briggs assists employers with various claims of discrimination, wrongful discharge and other torts, and charges of wage and hour violations.

Business Litigation

Mr. Briggs represents clients in a variety of different business disputes, including:

  • Litigation of claims against shareholders and directors for breach of fiduciary duty.
  • Litigation of stock valuation disputes.
  • Breach of contract claims.
  • Enforcement of non-competition agreements.

Additionally, Mr. Briggs assists the firm's trial attorney team in all aspects of trial preparation.

Professional Activities

 

Mr. Briggs is a member of the Oregon State Bar, Oregon Association of Defense Counsel, American Bar Association, Society for Human Resource Management, and Willamette Valley Chapter of the American Inns of Court.   Mr. Briggs is also serving as secretary for the Marion County Bar Association.


Education

Mr. Briggs earned his B.A. in political science and American History from Boston University. He earned his J.D. from the University of Oregon School of Law.  During law school, Mr. Briggs was Managing Editor of the Journal for Environmental Law and Litigation.
