Erich Paetsch focuses his practice in the areas of creditors' rights and environmental law including bankruptcy law, banking law, commercial litigation, and environmental litigation. Mr. Paetsch is licensed to practice in both Oregon and Washington.

Creditors' Rights and Banking Law

Mr. Paetsch represents institutions and individuals in creditors' rights-related legal problem solving and debt collection activities, including:

  • Lien filing and foreclosure actions
  • Judicial and non-judicial foreclosure of security interests upon personal and real property
  • Review and negotiation of loan documents
  • Interpretation and guidance to agricultural clients regarding asset and crop protection
  • Enforcement of judgments
  • Representation in front of the bankruptcy court
Commercial Litigation

Mr. Paetsch represents clients in different business and real estate disputes. He frequently assists the trial attorney team with trial strategy, discovery, settlement negotiations, and if necessary, trials.

Environmental Law

Mr. Paetsch has extensive educational training in environmental law and litigation including familiarity with CERCLA, RCRA, Endangered Species Act, and Clean Water Act compliance issues.

Professional Activities

Mr. Paetsch is a member of the Litigation, Debtor/Creditor, and Environmental Law sections of the Oregon State Bar. He has been admitted to state and federal courts in Oregon. He is also a member of the American Bar Association and the Willamette Valley Inns of Court.

Education

Mr. Paetsch received his B.A. from Lewis & Clark College, Portland, Oregon, and subsequently received his J.D. from Northwestern School of Law of Lewis & Clark College. He is a member of the Phi Delta Phi Honor Society as well as recipient of the Cornelius Honors Society Award. During law school he served as Associate Editor on the Environmental Law Review and the Moot Court Honor Board. Mr. Paetsch also completed the requirements to receive a Certificate in Environmental and Natural Resources Law.
